The pickup and Hanoi’s bus rule
From 1 July 2026, under Hanoi People’s Committee Decision 3273/QD-UBND, vehicles with more than 16 seats may drive in Zones 1 and 2 of Hoan Kiem ward only outside peak hours. The tour buses work around it: if your hotel is on a street the bus cannot reach, the operator names a pickup point a short walk away, and drops you there on the way back. Send the hotel address and a WhatsApp number when you book.

Trains and buses run from Hanoi to Ninh Binh; from Ninh Binh railway station the Trang An wharf is 9.2 km by road, a taxi ride. At the wharf the ticket is 300,000 dong (the ticket price). It suits people who stay a night in Ninh Binh: you choose your hour on the water and add Tam Coc or Hoa Lu on your own terms. For a day trip, the tour saves the planning and the transfers.
